A restored fisherman's house on the rugged Noto coastline. The Sea of Japan fills every window. Mornings smell of salt and cedar.
The Story of This Home
A restored fisherman's house on the rugged Noto coastline, built in the Showa era by a family who fished the Sea of Japan for three generations. After the 2024 Noto earthquake, many families left the peninsula. We worked with local builders to restore this home as an act of care for the community — a way of saying the peninsula is still worth returning to.
