If you know of an akiya in rural Japan that deserves to be restored, we would like to hear about it. We welcome leads from local residents, real estate agents, and municipal offices.
What We Are Looking For
Homes with exceptional character.
—Traditional architecture — minka, kominka, or machiya
—Rural or semi-rural setting with natural surroundings
—Structural integrity — or clear renovation potential
—Willing owner or family open to a long-term stewardship arrangement
—Located in a community that values cultural preservation
